Vision of the
STEPS
Community:

To Encourage Every Individual in the Community to Reach High Levels of Social, Economic and Personal Health.

Important Information

STEPS is:
Community members working together to improve community health.  Working together, the STEPS Neighborhood can achieve a higher level of Social, Educational, Physical and Economic health. Do you have an idea that could help improve our community? Our projects are resident-driven and include the Ovid Community Garden, Cooking Classes for healthier living, Community Book Boxes, programs for the youth in our area as well as Community Collectives which connect volunteers to community organizations that need help. Everyone who lives, learns, works or plays in the towns of Covert, Lodi, Ovid or Romulus are part of STEPS. We would love to have more residents join in our activities and share your ideas for community improvement. We look forward to having you join us!

Mini Grants for STEPS Community Businesses
In light of the changing regulations that are affecting small businesses during the Covid-19 pandemic, STEPS would like to help. Seneca Towns Engaging People for Solutions, or STEPS as it is more commonly known, has noticed that the new requirements for opening are providing a financial burden on our already stretched small businesses. Beginning May 29th 2020 STEPS will be offering Mini Grants for Small Businesses in the STEPS Community (Covert, Lodi, Ovid and Romulus). If your business needs to purchase additional PPE, sanitation supplies or items needed for their industry (ie. Plexi-glass barriers, tape, floor stickers or COVID signage) to be compliant with the NYS opening procedures STEPS would like to help defray the cost. Grants requesting up to $400 will be reviewed and granted on a first come, first serve basis, with preference given to those businesses that have worked with STEPS before. Funds are limited so it is recommended that you apply as soon as possible. You can find the application for the mini grant here, on google forms here  or by emailing Dale.Pemberton@s2aynetwork.org. Funding has been made available through the generosity of the Greater Rochester Health Foundation and our sponsor organization, S2AY Rural Health Network.

If you have a business concern or question about the mini grants, contact STEPS Business Mentor Dale Pemberton at Dale.Pemberton@s2aynetwork.org for more information.
