In March 2022, STEPS awarded Meg Jastran, a registered dietitian and Interlaken resident, with a mini-grant to offer free community cooking sessions. The program started that spring, with 4 sessions in each of the 4 towns of southern Seneca County.
Meg provides the recipes and food for us to prepare and enjoy these delicious "mostly plant-based" meals together. These are multi-generational gatherings enjoyed by all. Many commented that they loved the social aspect of cooking and then sharing a yummy meal together, as well as learning more about how to achieve a healthy gut "microbiome," which is central to good health.
